Back in 2023, Cultivators was in conversation with a promising candidate for a new role. As Cultivators, we are partners in growing businesses, and this individual came to us not only with strong credentials but also a clear, ambitious plan to contribute to our mission. We were eager to welcome him aboard.
But one line in his proposal stood out:
“For the first three months, I would like support in launching a strawberry facility in India.”
During the final interview, it became clear that his heart was set on this project — a venture he called The Fragaria. His passion was undeniable. The only lingering question was:
“What happens if The Fragaria takes off?”
We quickly realized the answer. This was not a side project — it was the project. Rather than hiring him and holding him back, we decided to do something different: We joined him.
After all, supporting entrepreneurs from the first idea to full operation is at the heart of what Cultivators does. What started as a pitch became a partnership. From concept to cultivation, we have been there every step of the way — and today, the first high-quality, locally grown strawberries from The Fragaria are a reality.
The Fragaria is led by an international team of specialists in high-tech cultivation. With strong educational backgrounds and hands-on experience in operating advanced greenhouse facilities, launching their own venture was a natural next step.
Their mission is clear:
Grow high-quality, fresh produce — and get the job done.
From detailed business planning to the successful launch of their trial farm, every step has been focused and strategic. The result? Fresh, flavourful strawberries that are winning over consumers, gaining traction with retailers, and attracting enthusiastic investors.
Now backed by two highly reputable investment funds, The Fragaria is scaling up. The team is building their first commercial facility, fuelled by the success and learnings of the pilot farm. Their momentum is unstoppable — The Fragaria is built for success.
